Japanease Traditional Rice Snack: OKOSHI - Food in Tokyo

"KAMINARI-OKOSHI is a traditional Japanese sweet.
The rice is steamed into rice cakes, roasted, and then puffed ""Okoshi seeds"" are mixed with starch syrup, sugar, peanuts, etc., and the mixture is kneaded and solidified into small pieces.

The name of KAMINARI-OKOSHI is derived from ""Kaminarimon,"" which is famous as a tourist destination, and was sold as a lucky charm of ""glory"" and ""prosperity"", and with a slogan such as ""the spell of lightning protection.""

It is always ranked high in the Asakusa souvenir ranking and boasts a wide range of popularity both inside and outside Japan.

The shop I interviewed this time is Tokiwado, a long-established special store KAMINARI-OKOSHI that has been established for over 200 years.

The main store is open about 5 seconds on foot from Kaminarimon, and demonstrations such as are sold daily.

You can eat freshly made 「KAMINARI-OKOSHI」 that can only be eaten at the time of demonstration sale.
In addition, some souvenirs have a limited taste that is not sold.
It seems fun to ride on a rickshaw while sightseeing in Asakusa while eating freshly made thunderstorms.
