Why Voltage does not matter at all during capacity testing! Here are the basics...

'Your cables are too small', 'You should have used better terminals', 'Far too much voltage drop...'
These are just some of the many comments under my last capacity test videos. This brought me to the conclusion, there is some education necessary.

I explain, why bad connections, thin cables or high voltage drop does not make a difference when measuring the capacity of a battery.
There is capacity in Ah and energy in Wh. Many people get confused by these two.
While the capacity (Ah) is the product of Amperes (A) and time (h), it does not include the voltage at all.
In contrast if you measure the energy of a battery, you will have the Voltage (V) x Ampere (A) x time (h), so the voltage play a vital role in this measurement and needs to be as accurate as possible.
