Goldberg "Shoestring" rubber power free flight
Airplane, weather, and opportunity finally came together for the trim flying of my version of this old Carl Goldberg all-sheet kit. The patterns were downloaded from parmodels.com.
I started with a hand carved 7" balsa prop, but had too much pitch. The plane wouldn't climb with 550 turns, but made a great powered approach to landing. I switched to a commercially available 7" plastic prop and the results were pretty impressive.
I saw a plan somewhere that claimed it would fly "30 seconds at 1 1/8 oz." Mine is 1 3/8 oz and I think I hit the 30 second mark!
