September Gliders
Balsa glider X1 was someone's contest-winning design that I couldn't get to fly. BGX2 was BGX1 with a new fuselage and longer nose. It showed promise after enlarging the stab and adding a sub-rudder for catapult launching, so this is BGX3 sporting more mods I thought would help it fly. Different nose design, more dihedral, and more carefully carved airfoil with a sharp break at the high point. Flying weight 18.0 gr.
I think I tilted the stab too much. I had to put a 1/16 sq. gurney flap under the left wing to hold it up and I'd like the glide circle a little bigger.
The best flights went unrecorded, but I was pretty happy with the ones that were!
