Ancient Egypt & the Classical World, a survey from the Cornell University Anthropology Collections
This video was originally prepared for Prof. Caitlín Barrett's class in Spring 2020. It presents a selection of artifacts from ancient Egypt, mainly from the site of Abydos, and a few other classical materials. Egyptian materials include a variety of ceramics (including a mold for baking bread); stone, glass, and faience beads, and other stone artifacts; glass vials; a mummified bird; and other pieces. A few Hellenistic figurines are also shown, and some Bronze Age and Danish Neolithic pieces.
There are many good resources online on ancient Egypt, but of particular interest here may be this blog entry on "Baking Ancient Egyptian Bread": https://www.atthemummiesball.com/baking-ancient-egyptian-bread/
