Winter layover in Amsterdam, Netherlands (Damrak walking tour, flower market, and canal cruise)

During the time of year when the tulips have long since died, dismal grey skies dominate, and the canal waters have taken on a murky tone, you would be forgiven to write off any chance for any true tourist experience to be found in Amsterdam in the middle of February. Such was the case with my visit, when a combination of intense jet lag and winter apathy made it very difficult for me to remain optimistic about my short layover in the Dutch capital.

Despite the limited time I had to sightsee, I managed to muster up the energy for a walk down the beautiful Damrak boulevard to the city's namesake square to check out the Dutch Royal Palace, before heading to the Bloemenmarkt (Flower Market) to see what tulips are like in the wintertime, before finally setting out on the canals for a one hour sightseeing circuit around the city center.

Note that this video is by no means intended to be a comprehensive guide to Amsterdam, only a snapshot of how I spent my particular layover in the city. Though, if you have any questions about transiting on a layover in Amsterdam, I'm always here to answer!
