Growing up with a mother with a personality disorder like Borderline Personality Disorder or Narcissistic Personality Disorder (BPD or NPD), can leave a distinct impact upon the development of a child, who often grows up to be an adult, with a distinct way of experiencing the world, relationships and self.
At their core, many of these adult children report that no matter how far they've come, how smart or talented or successful they are, when they are emotionally triggered, what they feel is that they are broken, defective, shameful, and bad inside.
These feelings are very common in those who are dealing with issues of complex trauma related to wounded parenting.
To start to heal, we must first acknowledge the deepest wound of all: feeling like we are bad inside.
Next, we need to understand the impact of the diagnosis or of a similar type of parenting wound, like BPD or NPD, which requires many levels of support, knowledge, techniques and treatment.
This video addresses the initial wound: feeling bad inside.😰
Next, it outlines the treatment path and introduces many CPTSD, complicated childhood, and treatment related concepts that can help us begin to heal our wounded hearts, and help us begin to live again, maybe even for the first time, without carrying the weight, the deep heavy darkness, of feeling bad inside.
💕❤️💕You don't have to carry this weight for the rest of your life, but you are going to have to take some significant steps in order to heal and change.
🙏🏻As always, BPD exists on a wide spectrum, and this video does not intend to imply that all BPD individuals are this way or have this impact on their children.
It is meant to honor the wounded pain of children who suffer, and to compassionately share with those with BPD, that getting help, treatment and support, will be the bravest and most impactful thing you may ever do to heal yourself, and your children's lives and hearts (if you have them.).
