THESE ARE THE SIGNS SOMEONE WAS RAISED BY A BORDERLINE MOTHER

Were you raised by a mother with Borderline Personality Disorder or primary caregiver with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD)? This video explores the research and clinical signs of how a person presents in therapy who may have been someone raised by a BPD mom or caregiver.

Given BPD exists on a wide spectrum, and can overlap and be co-morbid with other disorders and traits -- some, none or all examples and signs may be relevant to your experience and childhood.

What does the research say about babies, toddlers and children of Borderline mothers?

What signs might we see in ourselves when we have grown up with moms (especially untreated moms or caregivers) who may have struggled to provide consistently attuned, present, safe and stable environments for us?

What types of qualities might we have when our moms or caregivers have a diagnosis or traits of Borderline Personality Disorder?

Many of the signs also apply to a general experience of what I call "MAMA TRAUMA" -- childhood and adulthood experiences with parents who were or are immature, narcissistic, unavailable, unsafe, highly critical, wounding, etc..
