The End of the Solar System and Slitless Spectroscopy - Astronomy on Tap - November 11, 2022
Welcome to the new episode of Astronomy on Tap. Enjoy the fun of astronomy, drinks, and quizzes! This event will explore the end of the solar system and the observation of slitless spectra, with two 15-minute lectures each. This will be followed by an astronomy-themed quiz. This event will be conducted in Mandarin Chinese.
Speakers:
Dr. Xin Wang is an Associate Professor in the School of Astronomy and Space Science, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS), in Beijing. He has great expertise in the reduction and analysis of space-based wide-field slitless spectroscopy, multi-band imaging and photometry, acquired by the Hubble and James Webb Space Telescopes. https://www.astro.ucla.edu/~xwang/
Dr. Siyi Xu is an astronomer at Gemini Observatory/NOIRLab on the big island in Hawaii. She is interested in using different telescopes to search and characterize planets outside of the solar system. https://staff.gemini.edu/sxu/

Dr. Yuguang Chen, postdoctoral researcher at UC Davis. His research is to use the world largest telescopes to probe the atmosphere of galaxies, and to study how galaxies evolve based on the outside environment. http://www.yuguang-chen.com/
Dr. Xinnan Du is the Outreach and Engagement Manager at the Kavli Institute for Particle Astrophysics and Cosmology at Stanford University. Her research background is in galaxy evolution, using observational data to dissect chemical and kinematic properties of distant star-forming galaxies.
