Swimming, Playing, & Detecting at Quail Creek State Park on a 100 degree day! Would you believe 98?

We knew it would be a hot day today so we headed off early for Quail Creek State Park. We brought our swimsuits, and off course we seldom go anywhere without our Metal Detector. We found a nice spot under a tree and the kids headed to the lake while I set out detecting. Of all the places I have detected, I have never detected in an area with less trash. Heather was running the camera today and we wanted video not just of metal detection, but of the kids having fun in the lake. It was nice swinging a metal detector in an area with so little trash, because every time you get a tone it's a keeper. (During the whole day detecting I picked up probably 5 or 6 pieces of trash. We did get a lot of fishing weights, a couple of tent stakes, and a few assorted coins. I also picked up a very tiny piece of metal that was about 4" deep - and it sounded exactly like my gold wedding band. I thought for sure I had found gold. It is metal, and it is heavy, and it is very small, but I think it is probably a small brass piece broken from the blade of a propeller. This is a video of a young family having fun at the lake with a little bit of detecting mixed in. I will be uploading another video this weekend that is of a more serious Metal Detecting nature.
