Beginner Resin Ocean Beach Scene using Le’Rez Angel White
This is a quick 15 minute video to show the very beginning basics of creating an ocean beach wave scene in resin.
I really did overwork this piece at the end (not used to chatting as I create yet ;) & was worried my recording was going to shut off again), so I'll do another video soon. The info is good up until I started overworking & overmanipulating the white wave (you do not want to overwork the waves, so take that part as a learning example of what NOT to do). It's actually quite a common mistake to make when trying to learn lacing. Sooo, yes, I'll keep the blooper videos too.
Angel White does create beautiful lacing & cells using a heat gun. You can torch it and manipulate the white mix with a silicone spatula in to shape waves as well, then torch again. It takes a bit of practise to get the hang of it, but it does create beautiful waves & lacing (when not overworked).
Again, I'm quite new to making YouTube videos, and I'm learning how to do video tutorials as I go.
Products used in this video were: ArtWorks Resin, Le'Rez Angel White epoxy paste, Le'Rez Adriatic Blue mica pigment powder, Le'Rez Sea Breeze mica pigment powder were used for the ocean area, and ArtWorks Camo Tan liquid pigment was used for the sand area. All available from ArtWorks Resin Canada Inc website link below.
____________
Safety Note
Whenever using an epoxy resin, please use nitrile gloves only, because latex, vinyl & rubber are not chemical resistant. Even with no VOC resins, It is important to use in a well ventilated space. If you are using any resin frequently and manipulating with heat (where you can accidentally bring it to smoke point), consider using an organic vapour respirator. When you are sanding any resins, it is important to wear a particulate mask to prevent breathing in any resin powder/dust. Please don't use any 2 part epoxy resins near children or pets. Refer to MSDS sheets of resins (ours is on our website).
