Montréal is the largest city in Canada's Québec province. It’s set on an island in the Saint Lawrence River and named after Mt. Royal, the triple-peaked hill at its heart. Its boroughs, many of which were once independent cities, include neighborhoods ranging from cobblestone, French colonial Vieux-Montréal – with the Gothic Revival Notre-Dame Basilica at its center – to bohemian Plateau.
Montreal's winters are from November to March with January and February being the harshest. Montreal's summers are like no other. The city buzzes with people out and about enjoying food, festivals and picnics.
Montreal's public transit is a very good resource here in the city. Visit STM.info/en for more information on using public transit to get around the city. If you are driving in the city, you will find this app, P$ Service Mobile, to be very handy in paying for parking. Also visit Canada.ca for a wide range of information on visiting or moving to Canada.
