FAA clears SpaceX Starship for second test flight

Nearly seven months after the first integrated flight test of SpaceX's Starship rocket, the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration gave the go-ahead for a second launch.

SpaceX spent months conducting upgrades to both the rocket and the launch pad infrastructure in anticipation of its second test flight. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service also conducted a review of the new water deluge system, which has been tested a handful of times over the course of the summer.

Elon Musk said SpaceX is now targeting liftoff of Orbital Flight Test 2 (OFT-2) at the start of its two-hour launch window on Saturday, November 18, which opens at 7 a.m. CST (1300 UTC).
