July 4th at Comerica Park

Major League Baseball on Independence Day -- does it get any better that that? Actually, yes, it does when MLB introduces a brand-new commemorative ball with multi-colored stitches.

As I mentioned in the video, MLB used a different July 4th ball many years ago. If you want to see a photo of it, it's the 11th photo down from the top of this page:

This game in Detroit took place on July 4, 2017. I caught four baseballs over the course of the day including two toss-ups from the Giants before batting practice, followed by a BP homer in left-center field. My final snag was the ball that struck out Miguel Cabrera to end the 1st inning; Giants catcher Nick Hundley threw it to me, and as you can see in the video, it was one of the special balls.
