Building An Alaskan Log Cabin - Week 11 (The Stairs and Railings)
Hello my friends and Greetings from Alaska! This week I started working on the stairs and railings to the porch. They are currently about fifty percent complete. I still need to add intermediate railings which I will get to in the next video.
The river in this video is the Chena. It is a beautiful clear water that I have been boating on since I was a small boy. Sixty miles upstream it is a fast-flowing rocky stream, filled with Arctic Grayling, and is a wonderful place to drop in a canoe or raft and spend a couple of days floating out.
Tomorrow I am headed to the Copper River, to fish for Red Salmon, and if I am lucky, a King or two as well. I will be gone for several days or longer so I will not be working on the cabin all all this week. But I will be taking my camera with me, and hope to shoot some great video. This trip is a truly unique Alaskan experience. The Copper is a wild and wonderful river and I will do my best to make you feel as if you were there. You will see why I enjoy it so much.
Peace to you from Alaska.
