Stop-Motion Transformation of ToysEasy YW-2312 Doragus. This guy is surely a villain. This is based on the enormous Schwerer Gustav, a German 80cm railway gun from WWII. Another one was produced named Dora, so I guess that’s where they arrived at the name “Doragus”. It weighed 1490 tons (1350 metric tonnes) and was capable of firing 7.7 ton (7 metric tonne) projectiles up to 29 miles (47 km). It was so large it was transported on two parallel rail spurs. Crazy to make a transforming figure out of such an odd thing, but cool. Just realized that he has panels that fill in his calves. Whoopsie!

Production Note: The hip skirts unfolding could have been more in frame, but I was trying to avoid my big orange clamp also being in frame. Also, this figure has a very strong bias towards doing the legs last. Most of the time I try to end with the torso and head, but in this case I had to break with that protocol.

Viewing Note:
If you want to follow along, I recommend skipping to the speed run and using your , and . keyboard keys to advance by single frames. Every step of the transformation is documented in the frames of the video, in what I consider to be the best sequence. With minimal rubbing and minimal parts-parking.
