Delta measures the speed of the option’s price movement relative to the underlying stock price. It indicates the amount by which an option’s price will change for corresponding one point change in the price of the underlying stock or index.

Option Delta is a numeric value and it ranges from -1.0 to +10. If your options position is bullish your delta will be +ve. And if you option positions is bearish then your delta is –ve and vice versa. Remember there are four kind of positions you can make in the options market.
Buy Call
Sell Call
Buy Put
Sell Put
Buy Call & Sell Put are bullish positions and hence their delta will be positive
Buy Put & Sell Call are bearish positions and hence their delta will be negative
One use of delta is to pick the right option for your trade. If you want your option price to move fast then take position where delta is high.

Also note that Delta is dynamic it changes every day or every moment. So, as a trader you should constantly monitor the change in delta
