The Ray County Museum: Richmond Missouri

Built in 1910 at a price of $19,491, the Ray County Museum was originally called the "Ray County Poor Farm" and sits on a hill overlooking the Ray County Fairgrounds. This is a 3 floor, 50-room building that was converted into a county museum in 1974. It is built in the shape of a "Y" and is approximately 14,400 square feet.

There are some amazing displays here with items you will not find anywhere else. Just a few of subjects (rooms) on display are:

- Civil War
- WWI
- WWII
- Coal Mining
- Black History
- American Revolution
- Indian Artifacts
- Quilts
- And many, many more!

You may ask if this location has ever had any paranormal occurrences - The answer to that is a resounding "YES"! In fact, the Paranormal Task Force occasionally has overnight investigations where you can roam the property and experience the unusual for yourself!

Did you know that the Ray County Museum is also one heck of a genealogical library and placed on the National Registry of Historic Places in 1979!
