Trumpeter Shares his Struggle with Glaucoma | The Regulars
Tim Wilson spent over two decades playing trumpet for the San Francisco Opera until glaucoma forced him to leave the job he loved. Doctors recommended that he stop playing in order to preserve what was left of his vision. He was devastated. "I felt like I was unable to talk anymore," Wilson said, "That I'd lost the way I communicate to the greater society."
Today Wilson has found his voice and a "new set of hearts to inspire." The music director at Lovonya DeJean Middle School has dedicated himself to inspiring students through lessons in music and life.
