How You Can Make Your Own Maple Syrup at Home
It's a good day today! If you're interested to know how you can make your own maple syrup at home like I do, stay tuned. You may also be interested to know how long it actually takes to make maple syrup. This is the video to find out. Although my optimism was high in starting my first boil of the 2020 maple syrup season, my optimism faded as the hours went by. Boiling sap is fun and all but after 10 hours of sitting out by a steel barrel watching liquid boil, you get a bit bored. At least the heat from the barrel keeps one warm while basking in the sweet smell of the sap boiling. If you even decide you want to get into making maple syrup, be forewarned, you need patients and lots of it. Also don't let me forget to mention that you need lots of firewood. With the challenges of making maple syrup aside, the end result is something special. Even though you likely will say it every single time you taste the syrup, you will swear that it tastes better than anything else you've ever had. This likely isn't the actual truth, instead you force yourself to believe this so that you push onwards into the next round of sap boiling with the same optimism you started with. If you've ever wondered why maple syrup costs so much money, this video will show you exactly why. If anyone out there has some tips for me, I'm happy to hear it as I'd like to reduce the number of hours I spend boiling in the future by maximizing my efficiency.
