Our Hair Speaks Volumes | Alexandria McGill | TEDxValdostaState
Alexandria McGill discusses the natural hair journey. Alexandria L. McGill, born and rasied in Valdosta, GA. She’s 27 years old. Master Cosmetologists and Hair Care specialist. While serving 8 years in the hair care field, she has worked towards building clients and women of color up. Her love for hair started from a self-love path. As a Black woman, she found her inner-self during her first years of her Natural Hair journey. She embarked on this journey of self love July 4th, 2011. She would never had imagined her natural hair journey would turn into her love to teach other women of color just how special their hair truly is. Having a hair type of kinky coil course texture (4c hair type), it motivated her to create a Natural Hair Care line, Black Girl Magic Products. In her spare time, she enjoys teaching others and giving hair advice to the community via TalkWithAHairLady. A motto she lives by is: “Love your beauty for what it is, don’t compare your hair to no one else’s journey. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
