TEAC A 3300SX Ops Demo. - ZCUCKOO
Restored 1978 TEAC A-3300SX Reel to Reel. This is a 2 Speed deck 3 3/4 and 7 1/2 ips. 2 Channel, 4 Track Deck. All 3 Heads are in PERFECT Shape. This machine works 100% and Sounds BEAUTIFUL !
I will include a CD including the Owners, Service and Schematics Manuals with the sale of this deck.
Over 70 Electrolytic and Tantalum Capacitors have just been replaced in this deck with Brand New Elna Silmic II Capacitors. If you don't know about "Re-Capping, it is a Big Deal and a LOT of Work. Typically what happens to electrolytic capacitors is they have a life span from say up to 30 - 40 years even if the machine was sitting in a closet. They have specific units of measure in "Farads". As capacitors age, they can Leak, or "Gas" as time goes by they are no longer hold their correct "Value" of what they were Supposed to be. They still may work for the most part but the user will hear a "Hiss" or Hum, usually BOTH to a degree depending on where the capacitor is Located and what its job is. Then, as time goes by the performance of the deck really starts going downhill. Muffled sound, Hiss Hum, Transport issues etc. It creates a wide variety if problems resulting in Poor Performance.
I went ahead and replaced 70 + Capacitors in this deck with Elna Silmic II Capacitors. Some of the larger caps were replaced with Nichicon Audio Grade capacitors, Mostly Elna for the signal paths. They are a Great quality, Modern Capacitor that I use in anything I re-cap. They are known for a Clear Sound to say the least.
I have been Testing this deck all week after the Re-cap and Service I have done, and it works 100% the way it was designed to work and sounds even Better.
Transport Functions including Rewind, Fast Forward, Record, Pause, Auto Stop, Counter. All working 100% electronics after Re-cap, Relay service etc works 110%. Sounds Amazing.
