Bogota Colombia - A Mysterious Capital City That Few Visit
Bogota Colombia is visited by Cheap Charlie in his tour of the country. He finds a vibrant capital city full of nice people set high in the Andes mountains. For such a big city prices are quite cheap, taxis $1.50-$2, hotels $15-25 per night etc. There is some street food but it is not super common but there are many cheap eateries and diner type restaurants. Breakfast seems to be the major meal of the day with a big bowl of soup, coffee and some bread. Nightlife in this city seems somewhat limited, though there are a few districts where one can party. Bogota is a sophisticated, cosmopolitan business city that is well worth checking out. I also felt the city was quite safe, I had no bad or sketchy experiences in the week I spent there.
