Brush hog gearbox repair - How to remove and replace the output shaft seal

"My gearbox is leaking and I need a new bottom seal!" It's a common problem with, at least from what I could find, very few answers. So many of the brush hogs for sale on Craigslist have this problem as well. Since so few know how to do the repair, this can be a great way to get a great deal on a brush hog and use for yourself or resale.

It would not be possible to show how to change out bottom seals on every brush hog out there. However, the goal of this video is to give that extra small bit of confidence to the reasonably mechanically-inclined person who really wants to give it a try on their own.
