Meghan Markle’s July 23 Instagram post of a photo taken at Princess Diana’s grave prompted controversy and internal concern, according to multiple reports.

King Charles was reportedly “extremely disappointed,” and Prince William was described as angered, after Meghan Markle and Prince Harry visited Althorp during his U.K. trip to promote the 2027 Invictus Games.

The Instagram post followed the couple’s stop at Princess Diana’s resting place on the Spencer family estate.

Sources cited by News Idea and journalist Rob Shuter say Charles was “genuinely shocked,” while Queen Camilla was said to have warned against social media posts.

Royal commentator Hilary Fordwich told Fox News the move could harden institutional resistance.

No official photos were released from the private Highgrove House gathering.
