Which is faster? - Backstreets vs Cycle superhighway

I cycle to the pet shop via the backstreets then home via the cycle superhighway (CS2) to see which is faster and which is better.

The trip there is a bit longer and had a couple of delays like having to carry my bike up and over a train line, waiting to cross a road with no traffic lights and being stuck behind pedestrians along the tow path. The trip back via the cycle superhighway has fewer disruptions and the surface is much smoother but there were two big waits at traffic lights near the end that added a minute on to my journey each.

Still, the cycle superhighway was quicker by about a minute over a 13 minute trip.
