Does the ATA CEO need help with bills? | Trucking Answers

Chris Spear is the CEO of the American Trucking Association. In a recent interview he commented that we are all taking a pay cut in 2022 as a result of bad policies. As much as I agree that bad policies do impact the pay of truck drivers, I don't think we ALL are taking a pay cut in 2022. We may all be on the same ocean, but we are not all in the same boat. The listed salary of Chris Spear is $1.82M a year. That is $35000/wk. I don't know if he took a pay cut from last year but it is hard to imagine that life is difficult making that kind of money. It is difficult for drivers to know that because ATA member companies are the ones most often cited as lowering the freight rates and also keeping driver pay down. In fact, the ATA vigorously fights any regulation that might guarantee a truck driver just the federal minimum wage of $7.25 an hour. Is it too much to ask to just get minimum wage? Apparently it is. Either way I was considering a bake sale or possibly a live show marathon with the proceeds going to the ATA CEO so he can keep the lights on at his home and get the oil changed in his Yugo. Who's in?
