Wild Atlantic Way Vlog series - Ring of Kerry Road trip part 2 [S1-E38]

In this episode we continue our Road trip along the Wild Atlantic way and continue driving along the ring of Kerry,

We nearly have a disaster when we run our of petrol and have problems finding a petrol station.

We continue our road trip along the south of the Ring of Kerry and we are amazed at the scenery. We end up parking up in the Killarney National Park for the night

In the morning we get up early and head to Torc Waterfall. At 8am we were the only people there. Torc waterfall was only a short walk from the carpark though a beautiful forrest. There is something about the forests in Ireland that are so fairy like and magical. We decided it is because all of trees and rocks are covered in moss which gives it that feeling. The waterfall itself was wonderful and worth the short walks.

After we headed to Ross Castle, just outside of Killarney next to the lake.

We completed the last stretch of the Ring of Kerry by picking up a French hitchhiker and dropping her into Killorglin. The road trip on the Ring of Kerry wasn't quite over as we had to drive back to the south to rejoin the Wild Atlantic Way. We were going to drive the Gap of Dunloe but decided to find our own route as we had heard the horsemen block the road unless you pay for a ride. It was the best decision, we had the most wonderful drive across very thin mountain roads and the scenery was out of this world ! Some of the best views we have had in Ireland.

The Wild Atlantic Way is one of the longest designated coastal road trips in the world at over 2,500 km long. Our road trip of the Wild Atlantic Way started at the most Northern Point of Ireland - Malin Head and finished all the way at the bottom in the town of Kinsale.

The Wild Atlantic way is a road trip of a lifetime and that’s why we just had to do it and produce a travel series of vlogs of our experiences along this magical road. We saw beautiful and dramatic cliffs, stunning beaches, the best sunsets, met lots of lovely people, sung at a shanty festival and saw Ireland at it’s best. If you come to Ireland you must visit the Wild Atlantic Way - even if you can’t do the complete road trip just go and do part of it - absolutely awesome and what a road trip to start off our never ending journey around the Globe.
