Should you form this type of company in Bulgaria?
On this channel, we talked quite a bit about Bulgaria. It is one of the most tax-efficient countries in the EU. Another good thing about Bulgaria is that it's not blacklisted anywhere, unlike Hong Kong or British Virgin Islands.
One thing you should know about Bulgaria is that opening a bank account is getting tougher, especially if you're not a resident in the country.
Bulgaria is a part of the European Economic Area (EEA) which is good if you're looking for payment processing. Bulgaria also supports Stripe and PayPal.
As you probably already know corporate tax rate in Bulgaria is only 10%. At the same time, the cost of doing business is quite low. You can hire locals for appealing rates, and your processes don't have to cost a fortune.
There is also a dividend withholding tax of 5%, so if you're owning a Bulgarian company you'll end up paying almost 15% in tax.
Another downside of Bulgaria is that you have to worry about VAT if you make more than 50 000 lev, which is about 25 000 Euros.
Company setup is quite easy and affordable.
If you're coming from a high corporate tax country, Bulgaria is a good place to set up your business, especially if you come from EU.
