Today we’ll talk about one country that’s not often discussed, but it might be an amazing option for some.
We’ll be talking about Romania.

This country has a coast on the Black Sea and it is neighboring Bulgaria. It’s also much bigger than Bulgaria both in population and size, and it has about 20 million people.
In the past, we talked about forming a company in Romania, and the benefits it can bring.

It’s interesting to note that the Romanian language has some similarities to the Italian language. Many people really enjoy this country and everything it has to offer.

Bucharest Romanian capital certainly feels like a bigger city than the capital of Bulgaria, Sofia. Sofia certainly feels like a large town, while Bucharest brings a more urban vibe.
Bucharest is also known for its amazing nightlife scene.

Romania is also good for taxes, at least for most people. You can set yourself up so you pay 1-3% in corporate taxes, and then about 5% on the personal side. So, we’re talking about a 6-8% tax range, which is more than reasonable.

It’s also good to keep in mind that it’s competitive to employ people locally and there are no socials on the employer side, so you will certainly be saving lots of money there.

Many tech companies set themselves up in Romania, and there was a joke saying that Romanian is the second spoken language at Microsoft.
At one point in time, Romania had the fastest internet speed in Europe, which is great!

When it comes to other infrastructure, it’s certainly not amazing. I’d say that it’s better than Bulgaria, but certainly not like in Germany, for instance.

If you visit Bucharest you can certainly not miss the magnificent Palace of Parliament, the second-largest administrative building in the world, after the Pentagon.
Other than the capital, there are many other places in Romania worth visiting, such as the famous Transylvania.

Banking in Romania is decent, but not amazing for crypto.

If you haven’t been to Romania you should definitely go and check it out. It’s quite open at the moment, so you might want to consider this when planning where to travel.

Another important thing to add in the end is the ease of obtaining a residency in Romania.
If you’re an EU citizen, residency in Romania will be easy and straightforward. However, if you’re not an EU citizen things can get tricky. In that case, it’s certainly easier to get a residency in Bulgaria, than in Romania.
