The Good Dog Minute 12/1/14: Saving Sully, the leash aggressive, resource-guarding pitbull

Hey gang, this is a really important video for us. Sully is a young pitty with some pretty serious behavior issues. He's been in foster care for a year and half, and his resource guarding and incredibly intense leash aggression issues have made him virtually unadoptable. His foster care provider decided to take a chance on bringing Sully down from the Bay area to LA and have us work with Sully. The challenge here is that in the rescue community, typically balanced training methods and tools are considered unacceptable and inhumane. This leaves many, many dogs stuck with behavior issues that positive only methods are unable to solve. So many of these dogs never receive the care they need to become balanced and adoptable. But by using balanced training methods and tools we're able to resolve even extremely serious behavior issues. Btw, Sully was adopted and now lives an awesome life with an awesome couple. We want to extend our gratitude to Sully's foster care provider for taking the chance on us, and to his new owners for being so committed to the process.
