Don't Take Away Our Communal Hub: Save Broadwalk Shopping Centre, Say No to High-Rise in Edgware

"So I mean first of all look at that. This here is bad enough. We do not need High-rise tower blocks. We don't need the Broadwalk Shopping Centre taken away.

I've lived here 25 years. This shopping centre I consider the heart and soul of the Town. These people want to take that away just for the sake of well for the sake of profit really. That's the real reason.

My auntie works in the coffee shop known as Costa in the mid that Broadwalk Center. That place is the communal hub for all the elderly residents around here not to mention all the other shops that people use every single time. I go in that shopping centre. It is busy. People use it.

That shopping centre makes money. By developing the shopping centre, why don't you actually add things to the shopping centre that would be my idea of development. Not demolishing it and just putting high-rise tower blocks that no one actually wants or even needs for that matter.

Who's going to want to live in these apartments. People want more space.

We're in the suburbs it's a rural area. Keep it that way. This is not Central London. We don't want just buildings everywhere. We don't want this to be a concrete jungle.

This is Edgware. Leave it as Edgware. We're not anti-development but this is not what we consider development."
