Background of the session:
The three MP candidates express strong opposition to the proposed development in Edgware and support the Save Our Edgware campaign. (Note: Labour and Lib Dems candidates have been invited but they declined to take part.)

On 25 June, foregoing the England match and braving the heatwave, Edgware residents attended a Q&A with Bob Blackman, Theresa Villiers, and Ameet Jogia.
Insightful and informative exchanges on key issues took place, revealing much about the development process and involved parties. It was helpful to understand where the Conservative candidates stand on the proposed development and their proven track record of opposing inappropriate projects and promoting successful low-rise, high-density housing. The candidates answered candidly, which the audience appreciated.
We hope to release notes from the meeting shortly.
This election is significant for Edgware due to the scale of the proposals, it is the most significant since 1924.
For clarity’s sake as I have fielded a lot of messages about this we absolutely did invite Labour and other candidates, they did not accept. It's disappointing that Labour candidates have not provided a similar opportunity for clarity on their positions and commitment to residents' views.

Many thanks to all who attended. Your engagement made the evening a success. Special appreciation to the candidates and One Stonegrove for hosting the ECA.
