Lily Cole On Eco-Activism | The Extra Mile With Edward Enninful | British Vogue & BMW

When Lily Cole, former British Vogue cover star turned eco-activist and author, first started researching the climate crisis in her teens almost 20 years ago, she was “baffled that it wasn’t a big conversation.” Now, the world is finally catching up. Why? “Because it’s real,” she tells British Vogue Editor in Chief Edward Enninful in the latest video in The Extra Mile series in partnership with BMW. “Because we’re waking up.” In 2019, Cole published her book ‘Who Cares Wins’, a handbook of sorts for how to help halt the continued destruction of the planet. What are the personal changes she has made? “I’m predominantly vegan, I have an electric car, I’ve reduced my travel massively and I offset when I do,” she says. “I’ve tried to change my attitude to stuff. I really love having less. There is, she says, reason to be optimistic. “We have the power to choose something better. And what inspires me is that most people care.”
