Öhrwall was a Swedish conductor and composer. For several years he collaborated with Nikolaus Harnoncourt and Concentus Musicus Wien. This is an excerpt from his choral work MARIAMUSIK ("An account on the sacred virgin - for recitation, choir and instruments"), which was composed for the Nordic choir festival NORDKLANG in Silkeborg, Denmark (July 1974). The music contains the text in Swedish and Danish.

The melody is French and from the 15. century. The text is a Swedish prayer - from the 15. century as well.
