Goat Birth- How to prepare // Homesteading

What to do at Kidding time! This video is brought to you by Squarespace. For a 10% discount go to https://www.squarespace.com/anneofalltrades

Brandi Carlile, my Nigerian Dwarf dairy goat, is about to have kids. It's kidding season on the farm and that means we're prepping for LOTS of goat babies, goat milk, and everything in between. We're ready with our livestock birth kit, our goat kidding positions printout, all the knowledge and supplies we need, and now we wait. Waiting is hard on a homestead, especially when you know what might go wrong. In this video I show what happens when everything goes right with a live goat birth, give some tips for setting up the barn for goat kidding and milking goats, using a milking stanchion, and so much more. If you've never seen a live goat birth, join me for this exciting, miraculous moment!

I'm Anne of All Trades. In NASHVILLE, I have a woodworking, blacksmithing and fabrication shop, a selection of furry friends, and an organic farm. Whether you've got the knowledge, tools, time or space to do the things you've always wanted to do, everything is "figureoutable." I became "Anne of All Trades" out of necessity. With no background in farming or making things, I wanted to learn to raise my own food, fix things when they break, and build the things I need. 8 years ago I got my first pet, planted my first seed and picked up my first tool.
