10 boundaries that train people to respect you after a breakup (including your ex)

It’s time to reclaim your power 🦁👇🏻

(SHARE with a friend🫂)

1. You don’t explain your breakup story over and over. When asked, you say: “I’m focusing on myself now.”

2. You avoid gossip. If people bring up your ex, say: “Let’s not talk about them.” And change the subject.

3. Stop defending your decision. You don’t need to justify why it ended. You don’t owe anyone any explanation.

4. You keep emotional distance from anyone who’s minimized your feelings or gossiped about you in the past.

5. You don’t take pity invites. You’re not broken, you choose spaces that energize you.

6. If a friend pressures you to reconcile or criticizes how you’re healing, you end the conversation or walk away.

7. Before agreeing to any new commitments, you give yourself 24 hours to check if you have the energy or interest.

8. All unexpected contact from your ex is met with silence. You don’t need to reply or explain.

9. If you must communicate with your ex about practical things (like kids or bills), you only use text or email and stay factual, no emotional talk.

10. You delete the number of any new romantic interest who makes you feel anxious, confused, or like you have to earn their attention.
