In 1958, in Derry, Maine, the evil that resided from below was thought to have been vanquished, and feared tormentor Henry Bowers was locked away in an asylum. But 27 years later, the cycle continued, and the evil rose once again to infect a new class of human monsters. They were: Christopher Unwin, Steve Dubay and John "Webby" Garton, and like Henry Bowers before them, they would terrorize the social outcasts of Derry.

In July of 1985, they target a homosexual couple named Don Hagarty and Adrian Mellon. Adrian's story is a tragic one, so to fully understand his character, its significance, and his link to Georgie, Henry and ultimately Pennywise, stick around to the end of this video.

I'll also talk about how Adrian's story is inspired by the real life case of Charlie Howard in Bangor, Maine 1984.

This will cover the entire history of Adrian Mellon based on Stephen King's novel. Please note that this will only analyse him as he is in the book. I will show clips from the movies as a visual aid, but for the purposes of Horror History, the book is canon.
