1907 pedal planes

The Oshkosh parade was an attempt to set the Guinness World Record for the largest gathering of pedal planes. The previous record of 31 was set by the British at Brooklands last year. Oshkosh had over 50 in planes in the parade, but Guinness set some exacting rules for the official record attempt. They wanted to have all the planes piloted by 3 to 7 year olds complete a route one kilometre long with no adult assistance. They also wanted the planes to remain no more than 8 or 9 ft apart. That’s pretty tough for young pilots on a day when its 38C and 60% humidity. I’m still waiting to see what the Guinness official ruling is.
