21 01 Windy Day

Good to experience flying in all conditions. Lovely and smooth at 5000ft above the clouds but lower down it was very bumpy. If you don’t push the envelope a bit you never improve. I was expecting wind shear and kept the speed up on final but this still caught me out. The landing was heavy by my standards. More of an arrival than a landing. I'm still learning how the Vixxen flies in different weather conditions. It was probably the roughest air I've flown VXXY in so far. The wind across the ground was 16kt gusting 30. When I was back in the hangar I had a good look at the gear to make sure there wasn’t any damage. All was good and we are ready for the next flight. Some say, If you can use the aeroplane again its good landing!
I had to have a lie down for a while after that adrenalin rush. Its very calming laying in the sun just watching the clouds and birds racing across the sky.
