As part of my docuseries, I was fortunate enough to interview many high profile and extremely knowledgeable individuals on various topics related to health and wellness. Each person brought something unique to the series based on their study and expertise and of course, their personal experience. As part of this YouTube channel, I plan on releasing individual interviews over the next few weeks and taking highlighted shorter versions of the full interviews from the series, and posting them one by one. In this video I had the pleasure of chatting with Ben Greenfield. His name is well known in the health and wellness community but for those of you who aren't yet familiar with him, Ben is a podcaster, blogger, and author of the New York Times Bestseller “Beyond Training: Mastering Endurance, Health and Life”. He also has extensive experience as an athlete and holds a master’s degree in biomechanics and exercise physiology.

In this interview we covered a lot of ground; discussing everything from gathering data and self quantifying, to understanding your body more accurately and what works for you in terms of exercise, diet and weight loss, as well as such topics as foods that lower our blood glucose response to our meals, pre-meal strength training, the benefits of walking and postprandial exercise and its profound effect on glucose control and fat loss benefits. Ben also goes into detail about such topics as digestion, the benefits of cold showers, infra red saunas, staying active in everyday life situations, controlling glycemic variability, high cortisol and stress, and even cultural observations about so called “blue zones”; areas in the world where people live longer, healthier lives… and why.

This is a fascinating and engaging interview that is full of information that anyone can benefit from, regardless of your health/weight loss objectives.
