Former treasurer expresses concern over rise of anti-Semitism in Australia
Former treasurer Josh Frydenberg is anxious over the rise of anti-Semitism in Australia.
Speaking at a Melbourne fundraiser on Thursday, Mr Frydenberg described the Hamas attack on Israel as “medieval slaughter”.
Israel declared a state of war on October 7 after Hamas launched thousands of rockets in a surprise attack as far north as Tel Aviv.
Mr Frydenberg backs concerns by other prominent Jewish Australians that anti-Semitism is on the rise.
His comments follow pro-Palestine protests in response to the Israel-Hamas conflict across the country.
