Neuroradiology spine lesions - Choose your own adventure - Introduction

Today Michael Hoch brings us a structured approach to osseous spine lesions. This is an a choose your own adventure format where you can walk through the cases and then choose the appropriate follow-up video.

This is the overview lecture. In this lecture, Dr. Hoch talks about some of the some of the key features of osseous spine lesions and a structured approach to them.

The next lecture in the series is:
Case 1 - https://youtu.be/Z2-OtrT95EU

The first key decision is to determine if a lesion as aggressive features, such as cortical destruction, a poorly defined margin, or a soft tissue component. This guides your entire differential diagnosis.

Other factors that should be considered include:
Lesion location
Patient age
Lesion time course
Osseous matrix formation
MR appearance

By using these features and a structured approach, you can come up with a differential diagnosis for any spine lesions. See the additional lectures in this series to practice using this approach to evaluating spine lesions.
