Mudlarking with Nicola White - Rare mudlarking find takes me back to the Great Fire of London

Earlier this year I went for a mudlarking outing with Simon Bourne @Si-finds and Jules Farge and found a wonderful collection of mostly 17th Century finds, including one of my best ever finds. This find is a special traders token which took me on a journey to discover more about the person who issued the token and then to find that that it came from a business in Pudding Lane - which is where the Great Fire of London started in 1666.

It's incredible really, the journey of discovery that a Thames find can take you on and this one is particularly fascinating. To think that a person once held this token in their hand, that could have know the baker where the fire started is rather mind blowing to say the least!

So, do watch the video and see what you think and maybe you can find something out about the person who issued this token.

There are also some other finds with super stories behind the and I have some messages in bottles which need translating too! So, to be honest, this video is probably one of my firm favourites!
