ตัวรถได้ใช้วัสดุทำจาก ไฟเบอร์กลาส น้ำหนักเบา และทนทาน สามารถนั่งได้ 4 คน แบ่งเป็นผู้ใหญ่ 2 คน และเด็กอีก 2 คน โดยใช้มอเตอร์ไฟฟ้าขนาด 10 กิโลวัตต์ ใช้แบตเตอรี่ ก้อนละ 6 โวลต์ จำนวน 6 ก้อน ระยะทางวิ่งประมาณ 100 กิโลเมตร ต่อการชาร์จหนึ่งครั้ง สามารถทำความเร็วสูงสุดได้ที่ 80 กิโลเมตรต่อชั่วโมง ถึงจะดูธรรมดา แต่เมื่อพิจารณาจากยุคสมัยนั้นแล้ว ตัวเลขเหล่านี้ถือว่าค่อนข้างน่าประทับใจเลยทีเดียว

Looking back 40 years ago, Denmark witnessed a remarkable effort to create a small electric car that could be used in everyday life. This effort took the form of the Hope Whisper — a prototype that could very well be described as a "dream nearly realized" for the clean energy automotive industry in Europe.

The Hope Whisper was developed in 1983 by a company called Whisper Electronic Car AS (also known as Hope Motor AS) based in Hadsund, Denmark. The developers aimed to create an electric car specifically designed for urban use — compact, lightweight, and easy to drive. The project was one of Denmark's earliest ventures into the development of alternative energy vehicles that produced zero emissions.

The car’s body was made from lightweight, durable fiberglass. It could seat four passengers: two adults and two children. Powered by a 10-kilowatt electric motor, the vehicle used six 6-volt batteries and had a driving range of approximately 100 kilometers on a single charge. Its top speed was 80 kilometers per hour. While these figures may seem modest by today’s standards, they were quite impressive for that era.

Approximately 14 prototype vehicles were built, with four of them successfully registered for use on public roads. However, the project eventually came to an end due to financial difficulties. Although the Hope Whisper never achieved commercial success, it is still remembered as a pioneering effort in Denmark’s electric vehicle history. One of the remaining prototypes is now on display at the Danish Museum of Science and Technology.
