Latest on the possible Pacific Typhoon - Tropical Weather Bulletin

Areas of interest have been popping up across the Micronesian islands of the Western Pacific, with indications that a typhoon could form next week near the Philippines as a result. Invest 92W is the latest system to get a designation, located southwest of Chuuk, and is likely to become the one that forms into a tropical storm early next week near Palau or off the coast of the Philippines.

Indications are showing that the eventual storm may take longer to form, allowing it to draw closer to the Philippine islands and affect the eastern Visayas before recurving and rapidly strengthening as it pulls away from the area. Other model scenarios show a weaker storm pushing through the Philippines and into the South China Sea.

There are still indications for a possible tropical storm in the Eastern Pacific early next week, just before the season officially starts next Wednesday. An area of interest may develop near Nicaragua or El Salvador, and become a small tropical storm or even a hurricane later in the week.
