Historic Resource Regulations Changing March 1, 2022 | Lunch & Learn | City of Portland BDS

Effective March 1, the Historic Resources Code Project will result in changes to the City of Portland’s land use regulations affecting historic resources. The changes affect properties listed in the citywide Historic Resources Inventory, including Historic and Conservation Landmarks and Districts.

Among other regulatory improvements, the new code makes certain exterior alterations exempt from review, streamlines review of affordable housing in Historic Districts, establishes new procedures and criteria for demolition, and expands the use of incentives available to historic resources.

At this free virtual information session, Brandon Spencer-Hartle (Bureau of Planning & Sustainability) and Hillary Adam (Bureau of Development Services) will present on the code changes and answer questions.
