Lunch & Learn: Plan Review Windows
Lunch and Learn is a Bureau of Development Services community education program. Each session explores current development topics in an informal format. Mark your calendars and join us for the next “Lunch and Learn”. https://www.portlandoregon.gov/BDS/68048
Plan Review Windows: Shifting to a More Efficient Plan Review Process
The Bureau of Development Services is phasing in a new, more efficient plan review process for all types of building permits that establishes dedicated windows of uninterrupted time for City staff to perform plan review. During these windows, applicants will not be allowed to submit corrections to checksheets. However, as reviews are completed, customers will receive checksheets prior to the review window opening, thereby allowing them to gather multiple responses and bundle their corrections. This will result in time saved making multiple trips to BDS, and money saved in reprinting costs. This new process will be standard for all reviews when electronic plan review is rolled out.
Plan review windows will be implemented in phases for all permit types over the next year.
New Single Family Residential (NSFR) permits: January 1, 2019
All commercial permits: April 1, 2019
All residential permits: July 1, 2019
All other permit types: October 1, 2019
Topics to be discussed:
-Requirements and timelines of review windows
-Checksheet response process
-Service level goals
-Checking review window status
