Minnie the Cocker Spaniel overcomes all fears and dives off the dock with her Uncle Luke

I have to be honest, watching a dog overcome their fears and achieve something great with the strength of the pack really chokes Aunty Sam up! Please tell me it’s not just me!

There’s just something about it unfolding before your eyes and then the look on their face when they do it and then they do it again straight away because their confidence just sky rocketed to the moon and back!

Well today was wee little Minnie the Cocker Spaniel’s day. She’s been enthusiastically vocal on the sidelines for a while now during pool sessions. She especially gets close to getting in when Uncle Luke jumps in. But just hasn’t had the confidence to take the plunge.

Early into the pool session today Minnie fell in. Luke scooped her up and then did a few pretend jumps off the dock where he holds her up and carries her through the jump into the water with lots of verbal and physical praise and encouragement.

A little golden beam of light must have sparked inside because Minnie was inspired. Next time Uncle Luke jumped in ... so did she!!

And then that was it.

She was jumping off the dock ... swimming after the lure ... AND even leading the pack after the big ball!!!
