A dense fog advisory was issued for Rapid City and surrounding areas as widespread fog impacted much of the northern plains overnight into Monday morning. Viewed from above downtown Rapid City, the fog could be seen ebbing and flowing between buildings and neighborhoods. Visibility became dangerously low amidst the fog, making many drivers slow down and take caution on the roads.
